Cherish Love (Robinson) doesn’t just work in theatre and music—she moves through them. For over three decades, she’s built a career that refuses to sit in one lane, shaping stories as an artist, singer, producer, composer, music director, songwriter, theater director, and vocal coach. Whether she’s on stage or behind the scenes, her work carries the same signature: intention, soul, and a quiet kind of power that audiences don’t forget.
Some of that magic happens out of sight. Cherish has lent her voice and musical instincts to artists like Erykah Badu and The Roots on The Tonight Show, and brought that same excellence to national stages like The Colbert Show. As a vocal producer and arranger, she’s collaborated with artists including Elle King, The Texas Gentlemen, and Paul Cauthen—helping shape records that feel as good as they sound.
Her reach stretches into film and television, with her work appearing in Big Little Lies, Grey’s Anatomy, and the Amazon Prime film My Spy. But Cherish isn’t just part of the industry, she reflects on it. As a former entertainment writer for Elisia Magazine and co-host of The Midday Lockdown, she’s known for offering thoughtful, unfiltered insight into the evolving creative landscape.
Then there’s the stage— where she’s simply undeniable. Known for performances that are both commanding and deeply human, Cherish earned the 2020 Column Award for Lead Actress for her portrayal of Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act. Her credits span roles like The Witch in Into the Woods (Dallas Theater Center), Deloris in Sister Act (Watertower Theatre and Savannah Theatre), and Marie and Rosetta (Indianapolis Repertory Theatre), each one layered with emotional precision and presence.
One of her most defining moments came with Solstice at Theater Three, where she wore three hats—composer, music director, and lead performer—in a powerful original work by Jonathon Norton and Danielle Kastner. She also composed for The Black Album, written by Golden Globe-winner and acclaimed playwright Regina Taylor, continuing her streak of creating work that lives at the intersection of music and story.
In 2024, she added another layer to her artistry with the release of her debut holiday album, Love’s Holiday. Entirely written and produced by Cherish, the project is far from your traditional holiday record. Instead, it’s a thoughtfully curated, genre-blending compilation that brings together a collective of Dallas/Fort Worth based artists, from musicians to vocalists, each contributing a distinct voice and sound. No two songs are the same, moving seamlessly across styles while staying rooted in Cherish’s signature sense of soul and intention. The result is warm, rich, and deeply expressive—blending intricate vocal arrangements with storytelling and a sense of nostalgia that feels both classic and refreshingly new.
Offstage, Cherish is just as impactful. As a vocal coach and mentor, she works closely with artists to develop not only their technique, but their identity—helping them sound like themselves, fully. She also sits on the AT&T Performing Arts Center Auxiliary Board.
Cherish is the future author of The Artist Parallel, an upcoming book and growing platform centered on creative wellness, where she explores what it means to care for the artist behind the art.
At her core, Cherish Love is a collaborator, a truth-teller, and a builder of meaningful work. The kind of artist who elevates every room she enters and the kind of person you want in it.
